OVERVIEW

My name's Mark Edward Tan, a PHP Developer. My ethnicity is half filipino, quarter spanish and chinese. Also, I'm currently working as a PHP Developer at Mango Software, a dutch managed company. I grew a passion to challenge sophisticated logic problem. Pushing it beyond limits to overcome it and make me better in my craft.

Here's a quick overview about myself. To be exact, I was born at 4:12 a.m. thursday. Weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces and 21 inches long on November 15, 1984 in Metropolitan Hospital Manila. Then I grew up in Meycauayan, Bulacan. I graduated High School in St. Mary's Academy. During those days, I got addicted to computer games. Eventually, I became fascinated to computers because of playing games like counter-strike, warcraft, tekken and starcraft.

In 2001 I started college at Mapua Institute of Technology taking up B.S.I.T. (Information Technology) as my course. Later on, the admin decided to move us to Buendia, Makati for separation of Engineering and Information Technology courses.

BODYBUILDING

First and foremost, I started bodybuilding since I was 20 years old and my current goal is to achieve the 200 lbs bench press, 5 repetitions, full range of motion and no spot. In addition, My height is 5'7 and weighing approximately for about 130 lbs.

As of now, my current bench press is 190 lbs 2 repetitions, full range of motion (the bar will come in contact to the chest then press the bar upward until your arms are fully locked out.) and no spot. In order to achieve a heavy bench press, you must follow a strength training program. Specifically, I'm following the 5 x 5 Bill Star Strength Training Program right now and its really effective. Well basically, thanks a lot to IC Torres (my friend and classmate in college) for sharing me that strength training program. If he did not tell me that, I think my bench press is still 140 lbs 6 repetitions. By the way, IC's current bench press is 225 lbs, 3 repetition, full range of motion and no spot. Can you believe that?

PHPUGPH

I'm an active member in the PHPUGPH Forum (www.phpugph.com/talk). It stands for PHP Users Group Philippines. My username there is Kryptonian because I'm a fan of smallville. To give you an idea, Superman's Kryptonian name, "Kal-El", resembles the Hebrew words, which means "vessel of God". The suffix "el", meaning "of God". Well I've researched that due to that fact that I'm curious what it meant.

Well first of all, I wanna thank God for all the blessings that he gave me eventhough sometimes there are difficult trials in life which are inevitable that we need to face and overcome no matter what.

I also want to thank all of the members of PHPUGPH forum. They are very helpful to all. If you have a question about PHP or a non-technical question, they are willing to help to the extent of their knowledge. Knowledge comes from finding the answers, yes, but understanding what the answers mean is what brings wisdom.

Second, my parents and my little brother and sister who gave me full support in everything even if I did something wrong. And you know what, I could say that my parents are the best parents in the whole world! I love them. I also wanna thank my friends and my classmates because they're there whenever you need them.
